Our Christian Recovery Center firmly believes as the family attends our family therapy program and begins to heal, so too will the addict. This is due to the family’s newly learned ability to set and hold boundaries which will hold their loved one accountable on a regular basis. We also understand that the effects of addiction can be felt by all family members and the family alone cannot always help their loved one fully recover from their drug or alcohol addiction. We are here to help by providing private family therapy sessions on a weekly basis so that your family can grow and progress together. Family therapy is available for both Christian residential inpatient and Christian outpatient treatment programs.
The goal of family therapy is to help all members improve communication, solve problems, create a better functioning home environment, and understand how to handle special situations such as: substance abuse, death, divorce, trauma, and serious physical or mental illness. Other great benefits of family therapy is to educate the members about their loved one’s illness and provide them the necessary skills and tools to better handle and resolve the problems associated with caring for the addicted family member.
Each family therapy session is conducted in a private setting by a therapist or team of therapists who are trained and experienced in family and group therapy techniques. Our therapists can model new behaviors for the family through their interactions with each other during a session. In our family program, therapists seek to analyze the process of family interaction and communication as a whole and do not take sides with the client or their specific family member
Family therapy is a very important aspect of Christian drug rehab treatment. If you or the loved one ever plans on healing all must be able to heal from their dysfunctions. The main problem is that not every family has the skill sets or understanding of how to approach a chaotic situation healthily. This is where we step in and offer great value and assistance.
We incorporate the family into our clientele’s Christian treatment curriculum on a regular basis. We ask that the client not have any contact with their family for the first 7 days in order to help them address their codependency and to learn that they can handle life on their own. It is also a safety precaution in that sometimes the relationships can be volatile and if the individuals do not know how to use good communication skills, the client could potentially get stressed out and leave their Christian treatment episode prematurely.
We conduct family therapy on a weekly basis but do it in a very special manner. This means we do not just cram you into a large group room but rather we meet with you individually. This means that we are able to provide therapy sessions in a small intimate setting where only you and your partner or young adult children are in the room with one of our best Christian therapists. This is one Christian treatment approach that really sets us aside from the other “larger” Christian drug and alcohol rehabs.
